After their 34-34 tie in their campaign opener between the two teams, the women’s kabaddi final was also a closely contested encounter. Chinese Taipei inflicted an all-out on the Indian team in the second half, however, India outscored them in the raiding department to finish at the top of the podium.

It was India’s third women’s kabaddi title at the continental meet while Chinese Taipei upgraded their 2018 bronze to silver at Hangzhou.

In their one of the grandest campaigns in the history of Asian Games, India are all set to add more medals to their tally as the multi-sports are moving towards the end.

Later, India’s charismatic duo of Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy clinched the badminton men’s doubles gold medal. They beat Korea’s Choi Sol Gyu and Kim Won Ho 21-18, 21-16 to win India’s first-ever badminton gold medal at the Asian Games.

This was Chirag-Satwik’s fifth title of the year, following wins at the Swiss Open, Asia Championships, Indonesia Open and Korea Open.

The 19th Asian Games saw a 655-member strong Indian contingent in action in 41 disciplines at 56 venues, in and around Hangzhou.
