IPL franchise Delhi Capitals made the announcement that their support staff member Kevin Pietersen left to take a temporary break starting today. The video posted by Pietersen on X on Sunday (April 6) shows him flying to the Maldives. Pietersen joined the Delhi Capitals before the start of IPL 2025 as their new franchise mentor at the Delhi headquarters. The Delhi Capitals continue to lead IPL 2025 points table at first position after defeating all their three matches with the help of their mentor Kevin Pietersen.

Delhi Capitals defeated Chennai Super Kings by 25 runs during the IPL final in 2020 and Pietersen departed from his team responsibility following that match to take a brief break. The Times of India published that Pietersen will not appear in DC’s April 10 match versus RCB in Bengaluru although he will return for DC’s first home game at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi prior to the fixture. The Mumbai Indians team awaits Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi when the two teams meet on April 13.
Bumrah To Feature in MI Vs RCB
According to Mumbai Indians coach Mahela Jayawardene Bumrah will play for the team when they face Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) during their April 7 match at Wankhede Stadium. Jasprit Bumrah withdrew from competing as an India national player due to the ICC Champions Trophy but sought to return to his Mumbai Indians squad for their third match. On that Sunday he formally joined the Mumbai Indians team roster. The BCCI medical staff at the Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru issued medical authorization for Bumrah to return to competitive cricket.
