IPL 2025: As the 12th IPL match between MI and KKR will happen today. There is one emerging star player from MI who the Knights need to watch out for and he is non other than the 24 year-old Vignesh Puthur. The only bowler who was able to make Chennai sweat during an intense battle of “El Clasico”.
Against CSK, Puthur bowled 24 deliveries which cost him 32 runs during which he also scalped three wickets which includes CSK skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shivam Dube and Deepak Hooda which resulted in his best bowling figures of 3/32 with a bowling average of 10.66 along with an economy rate of 8.00 and a strike rate of 8.0.

Who Is Vignesh Puthur?
Vignesh Puthur is a new 24 year-old star player of MI who is from Mallapuram in Kerala. He is a left-arm wristspinner who made his debut for the Pultans in their match against CSK. He delivered an outstanding first match performance by dismissing Gaikwad Dube and Hooda. The cricket world noticed his unusual spin delivery technique during his rookie field sessions which led to MI offering him a five-year IPL contract at ₹30 lakh beginning in 2025 after successful assessments. Before his debut in the SA20 he served as a net bowler for MI Cape Town.
