The highly awaited Women’s ODI World Cup, which starts on September 30, will feature India facing Sri Lanka in their opening game at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The highest-profile match of the tournament (India vs Pakistan) will be played on October 5 at a neutral ground (R. Premadasa Stadium) in Colombo, owing to prevailing political tensions between the two countries. India will also play Bangladesh in Bengaluru on October 26.
Defending champions Australia will begin their campaign against New Zealand on October 1 at the Holkar Stadium in Indore. Australia will also play Pakistan in Colombo on October 8, and will meet England in Indore on October 22, a repeat of the previous edition final.
Under the hybrid hosting agreement between the BCCI and PCB, all of Pakistan’s matches will be held in Colombo. Their schedule includes matches against:
Opponent | Date |
---|---|
Bangladesh | October 2 |
Australia | October 8 |
England | October 15 |
New Zealand | October 18 |
South Africa | October 21 |
Sri Lanka | October 24 |
England, meanwhile, will face South Africa in Bengaluru on October 3, and then take on Sri Lanka (October 11) and New Zealand (October 26) at the ACA Stadium in Guwahati.
Bangladesh will begin its tournament against Pakistan, followed by three additional matches at the ACA–VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam. They will also face Sri Lanka on October 20 in Colombo.
South Africa is set for key clashes against New Zealand (October 6) and Australia (October 25), both in Indore.
Due to strained diplomatic relations, Pakistan’s matches are scheduled on neutral grounds, as India refused to travel to Pakistan for the tournament. This follows a precedent set during the 2025 Champions Trophy, where India played its matches in Dubai despite Pakistan being the official host. In retaliation, PCB has indicated that Pakistan may not tour India for future tournaments.
The tournament will feature 28 league matches, followed by three knockout fixtures, with games spread across Bengaluru, Indore, Guwahati, Visakhapatnam, and Colombo.
The first semi-final is scheduled for October 29 in Guwahati, but if Pakistan qualifies, the match will instead be moved to Colombo for security and diplomatic reasons.
The second semi-final will be held on October 30 in Bengaluru. The final will take place on November 2, with the venue yet to be finalized between Bengaluru and Colombo.
