IND vs AUS 2nd Test: Travis Head Reacts To Grouping And Rift Rumours In Australian Team After Josh Hazlewood’s Exclusion

Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood was ruled out of the IND vs AUS 2nd Test due to a side strain injury. Scott Boland is pretty likely to replace the Australian pacer.

Australia national cricket team suffered a major jolt after Josh Hazlewood was ruled out of the IND vs AUS 2nd Test to be played from December 6 at the Adelaide Oval ground in Adelaide. Australia suffered a huge loss at the hands of India in the first Test match played in Perth due to which rumours of grouping and rift between players emerged. More fire was added towards the rumours when Australian pacer Hazlewood said in the post match press conference, “You probably have to ask one of the batters that question probably, I am sort of relaxing and trying to get a bit of treatment, and I am looking mostly to next Test.”

Soon after Josh Hazlewood gave this statement he was ruled out of the second Test match due to an alleged side strain injury. Australian batter Travis Head has addressed all the issues during the pre match press briefing ahead of the IND vs AUS 2nd Test and stated that there is no grouping in the team setup. He said, “It’s a very individualised sport. So batters want to hold our own. We know the bowl. We know how good our bowlers have been for us in the past, and they’ve got us out of trouble a lot. So, as a batting group, we know that if we can get enough runs on the ball, we put ourselves in a great position.

So as a batter myself, I try to hold a lot of pride in what I do and knowing that if I can set it up for the big boys, that they can knock it down for us“, Travis Head added.

Josh Hazlewood emerged as the most successful bowler against India in the first innings of the Perth Test wherein the latter picked up four wickets. Team India was bundled for 150 runs, however, the Indian team didn’t seemed to get troubled in the second innings after which they setup a huge target of 534 runs for the Aussies. Hazlewood has been among the key spearheads for the Australia national cricket team and has a decent record of picking up wickets in Australia. Scott Boland is very likely to replace Hazlewood in the playing XI.
