The 3-match T20I series between India and Afghanistan witnessed many cricketers returning for the final T20 assignment ahead of Team India’s T20 World Cup 2024 campaign.
The series also witnessed Indian greats like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma return to the fray after long breaks from the shortest format of the game.
However, Rohit Sharma’s return didn’t turn out to be a pleasant one as the Hitman got himself dismissed on consecutive ducks in the first 2 T20Is.

His dismal form saw the youngsters having to take the load and steer Team India to the win in order to seal the T20I series. The likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shivam Dube produced fine batting displays in the 2nd T20I to carry Team India over the finish line.

Rohit Sharma still has one T20I left in his bag and that too on a batting friendly Bengaluru pitch. If anyone knows how to make a comeback when things are not going his way it’s Rohit Sharma. Having played a record 150 matches for the Men in Blue, Rohit will be looking forward to put that experience into play and lead by example in the final T20I match of the series.
With Afghanistan missing their star spinner Rashid Khan due to injury, Rohit can end Team India’s T20I series with a bang ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024 in June.
