New Delhi: Roger Binny has resumed the position of BCCI president but he couldn’t really believe on it for an entire night.
In a media interaction after resuming the position, Binny said that it took him a whole night to sink in the news as he didn’t expect this nomination.
“I was shocked when I was asked to file the nomination. I did expect to be in contention for some post, but that wasn’t for the top job. When I was told that I would be the president, it took a whole night for it to sink in,” said Binny in Times of India.
Roger Binny was part of 1983 World Cup winning team and has been taking up challenged of life gracefully. Taking the position, Binny said, “I love challenges and I am going to enjoy this as well.”
After making debut in 1979, he played his first Test against Pakistan in Bangalore. It was in 1980 that Binny made his ODI debut against Australia. In his career of 9 years, Binny played 27 Tests and 72 ODIs for India. The 67-year-old has 47 wickets in Tests and 77 wickets in ODIs. Apart from this, Binny has scored 830 runs in Tests and 629 runs in ODIs.
