‘His Knock With Strike Rate Of 184 Is Truly Remarkable’: Sachin Tendulkar On Rishabh Pant’s batting In Sydney Test

Former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar heaped praise on Rishabh Pant's batting approach during the IND vs AUS 5th Test.

Indian wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant smashed the second-fastest half-century by an Indian batter in Test cricket during the IND vs AUS 5th Test. Pant reached the milestone in just 29 balls and missed out on leveling his own record by just one ball. On a pitch where bowlers have dominated as of now and taken 26 wickets towards the end of Day 2, Pant played with an aggressive mindset and took on the Australian. The latter played an innings of 61 runs from 33 balls which included six fours and four sixes.

Sachin Tendulkar Heaps Praise On Rishabh Pant

Rishabh Pant was praised by former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar as he shared a post on his official ‘X’ handle. Praising Pant, Tendulkar stated that on a surface where most of the batters batted at nearly 50, Rishabh’s approach of playing at a strike of 184 is remarkable. The post read, “On a wicket where majority of the batters have batted at a SR of 50 or less, Rishabh Pant’s knock with a SR of 184 is truly remarkable. He has rattled Australia from ball one. It is always entertaining to watch him bat. What an impactful innings!”

The Indian team finished Day 2 of IND vs AUS 5th Test at a score of 141/6 and currently lead by a margin of 145 runs. The Jasprit Bumrah-led side showcased a brilliant performance with the ball on Day 2 wherein they wrapped up the Aussies for 181 runs in reply of India’s score of 185. Prasidh Krishna picked up three wickets, whereas Mohammed Siraj, Jasprit Bumrah, Nitish Kumar Reddy picked up two wickets apiece.
