Team India head coach Gautam Gambhir has rejoined Team India in England after his mother’s serious health issues compelled him to go back to India. India head coach Gautam Gambhir returned home on June 12, when his mother had a heart attack on June 11. According to the sources, at that time, Gambhir was with his mother, who had been admitted to a Delhi hospital to the Intensive Care Unit (ICT). The Indian head coach was expected to rejoin the team ahead of the first Test against England that starts on June 20. His mother was to determine the exact date of the travel later on, and now that he is back on the side.

Gambhir had been touring with Indian cricket side to England on June 6 and they had been training in Beckenham, before the five-Test series. Unit led by Shubman Gill has done a lot of sessions and they are to play an intrasquad game starting June 13. Upon completing the four-day game, the team will be prepared to travel to Leeds where the first game of the series will take off at Headingley.
