The All India Football Federation (AIFF) officially announced his return to national team duty. Sunil Chhetri joins the 26-man squad selected by coach Manolo Marquez for India’s March FIFA international window despite his retirement from national team play last June. Chhetri’s Comeback To Strengthen India’s Asian Cup Qualification Hopes

India will start their AFC Asian Cup 2027 Qualifiers Final Round against Bangladesh on March 25 following their friendly match against the Maldives on March 19. Coach Manolo Marquez explained that Asian Cup qualification holds great importance for the Indian national team. The upcoming tournament and upcoming matches required my discussion with Sunil Chhetri about his return to boost the national team. The coach accepted the proposal and added him to the team roster. Bengaluru FC’s Sunil Chhetri maintains his goal-scoring form in the ISL with 12 goals from 23 matches while preparing to lead India toward better results than their previous Asian Cup performance.
