CSK Vs DC: KL Rahul’s 77 Runs Leads Delhi Capitals To Win By 25 Runs, See Scorecard, Highlights

Rahul maintained the innings by scoring 77 runs from 51 balls while hitting six boundaries along with three big hits.

The Chennai Super Kings experienced their worst defeat of the tournament during their home match against Delhi Capitals at Chepauk Stadium. The Delhi team batted first as they scored 183 runs with six players being dismissed from playing. A blazing performance by KL Rahul delivered 77 runs through 51 balls while Abhishek Porel hit 33 runs during the inning. CSK scored 158 runs while losing 5 wickets in return. The absence of Faf du Plessis led to KL Rahul and Jack Fraser starting the batting for Delhi Capitals in the match. In that match Fraser received a duck as the final delivery of the innings.

Rahul formed an impressive fifty-partnered stand with Abhishek Porel after Porel managed to score 33 runs off his 20 balls. Batting in the crucial fourth spot of the lineup Captain Axar Patel hit 21 runs from his 14 deliveries. Rizvi Rizvi started well with the bat before his dismissal for 20 runs. From one end Rahul maintained the innings by scoring 77 runs from 51 balls while hitting six boundaries along with three big hits. Under the captaincy of Axar Patel Delhi achieved their third victory in this season.

Poor Start for Chennai

During their pursuit of 184, Chennai Super Kings produced a miserable batting performance at the beginning of their innings. The batting performance of Rachin Ravindra ended as another failure with only 3 runs credited to his name. During his 14-ball innings Devon Conway managed to score 13 runs before being dismissed. During the match against Delhi Capitals Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad came at bat and achieved a score of 5 runs before getting dismissed. Shivam Dube managed to score 18 runs before Vipin Nigam dismissed him. The Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav dismissed Jadeja when he kept himself in front and took a two run wicket.

MS Dhoni together with Vijay Shankar formed an 84-run stand which consumed 57 balls yet the combined effort did not produce victory. Dhoni finished the innings without being gotten out after facing 26 deliveries and scoring 30 runs alongside Vijay Shankar who ended without losing his wicket after spanning 69 runs in 57 balls. The setting of 2 wickets for 27 runs secured Vipin Nigam as Kolkata Knight Riders’ top bowler alongside Mukesh Anantha Kumar and Starc who each secured 1 wicket.
