Let’s rewind the past
Both players were excluded from the annual contracts list last season. Iyer made a solid comeback after being dropped from the central contract list in 2023-24. The star batter had a fallout with the selection committee after he refused to play a Ranji Trophy match for Mumbai, following his exclusion from the Indian Test squad after the second Test against England. He had cited a back injury that kept him from playing red-ball cricket.
Iyer’s sensational Champions Trophy 2025
Since then, Shreyas has played a pivotal role in Indiaâs victory in the 2025 Champions Trophy, where he was the teamâs highest run-scorer with 243 runs from five innings. Currently, he is positioned at Grade B.
Kishan’s response
Apart from this, Ishan Kishan too joins the list after getting excluded from previous contract. He is been awarded with Grade C contract. Once doubted for consistency, Kishan answered back with flair, control, and match-winning intent for SRH.
