“Even today, I was like, why are they giving me the award? I feel Noor Ahmad bowled well. The new ball bowling and in between when Noor and Jaddu, you know, they bowled like four or five overs together. Those were the two spans, I think, where we did very well,” said Dhoni at the post-match presentation.

Remarkably, this was Dhoni’s first Player of the Match award in the IPL since 2019, marking the end of a five-year gap. Speaking after the game, the CSK icon humbly downplayed his own contribution, noting that several other players might have been more deserving of the honour. Nonetheless, his experience proved vital in crunch time.
Together with Dhoni, Shivam Dube propped up the innings with a serene and composed 43* off 37 deliveries. The duo shared a match-winning 57-run unbroken sixth-wicket partnership, guiding CSK home in a nervy last over.
