“This Is Where I Belong”: Says Narine
“Starting off, franchise cricket felt like just another tournament. But as time went along, you developed a relationship, and it became like a family. This is going to be my 14th year in the IPL. I’ve played with them outside of IPL as well. It’s like a family-based team for me. Every time I play with the Knight Riders logo, it feels like this is where I belong,” he said.
Sunil Narine: The Dynamic Opener For KKR
In IPL 2024, Narine had played a role of opener, which contributed substantially to affecting his run-scoring capacity. Nevertheless, supported by Gambhir as an opener, he partnered with Phil Salt and formed a lethal combination to put in match-winning performances across the season.
Talking to the media before KKR’s season-opener match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Narine confirmed that his batting spot purely relies on team strategy. However, he emphatically stated that he would thoroughly enjoy walking out as an opener in IPL 2025.
