KKR Vs LSG, IPL 2025 Match At Eden Gardens Likely To Be Rescheduled – Here’s Why!

The match between KKR and LSG was was initially scheduled on April 6 but now it seems that the match is likely to be rescheduled.

The match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) is likely to be rescheduled as the city police has still not granted security clearance. The decision is likely to be taken because of Ram Navami celebrations, this requires huge security in all the areas.

Match Between KKR Vs LSG Likely To Be Rescheduled

The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) president Snehasish Ganguly was involved with two round of discussions with the police, following which he confirmed that the authorities have “not given the go-ahead” for the match to proceed. It is also important to not that in the last season of IPL the match between KKR and Rajasthan Royals was rescheduled due to the same reason.

No “Adequate Security” For The Match

“They have categorically said they won’t be able to provide adequate security. If there’s no police protection, accommodating a 65,000-strong crowd becomes impossible,” Snehasish (CAB president) said.

“We have informed the BCCI, and there is still time to take a final call. Even last year, a scheduled IPL match on Ram Navami had to be rescheduled.”

IPL 2025: Opening Ceremony & First Match

The 18th season of Indian Premier League (IPL) is all set to start from March 22, 2025 at the Eden Gardens with the first match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). The tournament will feature 10 teams with the final being scheduled on May 25, 2025. But before the match there is going to be a grand opening ceremony which has a star-studded lineup consisting of top actors and singers. Shraddha Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Arijit Singh, Disha Patani, Shreya Ghoshal and Karan Aujla will be performing.
