The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) were seen struggling against Delhi, in which they needed to dig deep and demonstrate staying power to take away a vital victory. With only four league games left, the playoff race is intensifying and for Ajinkya Rahane’s side, the margin for error is paper-thin.
What KKR Needs To Do To Qualify?
Placed just outside the top four at the moment, KKR need to treat each of the remaining fixtures as a virtual knockout. To remain in contention for a playoff spot, they must win at least three of their last four matches. Three wins may put them in contention based on net run rate (NRR) and other outcomes, but four wins would more or less practically ensure a spot among the top four, and even get them into the top two if other outcomes are favorable.

KKR Looking Forward To Continue Winning Momentum
KKR has displayed moments of greatness this year, courtesy performances from the likes of Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, and young gun Rinku Singh. But inconsistency has usually been their weakness. The team will be depending on both their veteran core and emerging youngsters to find their form in the remaining games. Ajinkya Rahane’s captaincy has introduced a composed air to the team, but now it is time for aggressive choices and large performances. The remaining games will put KKR’s depth, mental toughness, and pressure-handling abilities to the test.
As the playoff picture gets narrower, the Knight Riders understand what’s at risk. The journey is difficult, but not unachievable win three and hope; win four and stroll into the playoffs.
