KL Rahul’s improving performances and flexibility in IPL 2025 have created a buzz among cricket experts, and former England cricketer and Delhi Capitals mentor Kevin Pietersen has suggested that he be recalled to India’s T20I team. Pietersen is convinced that Rahul must be India’s first option for No. 4 batting position and wicketkeeper in T20 internationals. Pietersen believes his form at the moment in IPL 2025 is strong enough to earn him a spot in the team. Following an excellent IPL 2024 campaign with 520 runs, KL Rahul has displayed a more attacking and polished style of play in IPL 2025 with Delhi Capitals.

Pietersen pointed out that since India has already got a solid top-order already established, Rahul would be an ideal candidate to bat at No. 4 in T20Is. This year, free from the captaincy burden, Rahul has been sensational. His outstanding innings of 77 and an unbeaten 93 in Chennai and Bengaluru showed his newfound confidence and manner of batting.
