England star Harry Brook has withdrawn from Indian Premier League (IPL) for second consecutive year, this decision can potentially lead to a ban from participating in the future editions. Brook who was acquired by Delhi Capitals said on Sunday that he would be skipping the upcoming IPL season and will be focusing on preparing for England’s upcoming international fixtures.

“It is a really important time for England cricket and I want to fully commit to preparing for the upcoming series. In order to do this, I need time to recharge after the busiest period in my career to date.
“I know not everyone will understand, and I don’t expect them to, but I have to do what i believe is right, and playing for my country remains my priority and focus.” said Brook

What Does The New IPL Rule Say?
According to IPL’s new rule: “Any player who registers in the player auction and after getting picked at the auction, makes himself unavailable before the start of the season, will get banned from participating in the tournament and player auction for 2 Seasons.”
Harry Brook Recently Participated In Champions Trophy
Brook was recently England’s vice-captain in the Champions Trophy, in which the team had a disappointing tournament, losing all three of their group-stage games. After their premature elimination, Jos Buttler resigned as captain, and Brook is now seen as a likely candidate to succeed him as captain.

England’s calendar features a lone Test against Zimbabwe in May, as well as three ODIs and three T20Is against the West Indies at home. In contrast, the IPL starts from March 22 to May 25.
