IND Vs NZ: Spin To Win? Dinesh Karthik Predicts Spinners To Shine In 2nd Test

Dinesh Karthik opined that the disappointment from their Bengaluru show is going to find its vent in the form of spinners reviving their lost form.

Team India faced a tough defeat against New Zealand in the first Test and former Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik seems to sound confident that the spin attack comprising Ravichandran Ashwin, Kuldeep Yadav, and Ravindra Jadeja would definitely send a strong message in the second Test against New Zealand, scheduled to take place in Pune, coming after a dismal show in Bengaluru. India went on to suffer a rather disheartening seven-wicket defeat at the hands of New Zealand.

Dinesh Karthik Backs Team India Spinners

Karthik spoke on CricBuzz saying that the disappointment from their Bengaluru show is going to find its vent in the form of spinners reviving their lost form. He remains hopeful about the recovery of his team. The first Test was very tough for India. A disastrous batting collapse handed India its lowest total on Indian soil ever-46 runs, all out. This early mishap severely went on to affect the team’s morale and performance.

“I wouldn’t think too much into the Indian Spinners, they didn’t have their best Test as a unit. Be it Jadeja, be it Kuldeep, and Ashwin for sure. Which is good, because you want these players to feel the pinch, because when they come back they come back harder. I believe the conditions will suit them a lot more in Pune, and you will see Ashwin and Jadeja having a good game,” Karthik said.

Though they had done well in bowling in successive series against England and Bangladesh, India’s spinners were not impressive in Bengaluru as they were not able to take a single wicket in the second innings. Jadeja and Kuldeep have taken three wickets each in the first innings, but Ashwin had taken only one and that was being questioned whether such spinners could perform under pressure.
