The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) spinner Digvesh Rathi has been in the spotlight since the start of IPL 2025 it is not just because of his on-field performance but also because of his controversial “Notebook Celebration.” Due to this he has been fined multiple times in the tournament. In IPL Auction, Lucknow Super Giants picked Digvesh for INR 30 Lakhs at base price.
Fines Imposed On Digvesh Rathi In IPL 2025
Digvesh Singh Rathi faced disciplinary action three times in IPL 2025 till now for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct this is primarily due to his provocative “Notebook Celebration.”
He was first fined 25% fees in match against Punjab Kings on April 2, 2025 following which he received one demerit point for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct.

In his second offence he was slapped with an even heavier fine of 50% match fees for repeating the same Level 1 offense under Article 2.5 of the IPL Code of Conduct. This was due to his ‘Notebook Celebration’ again in match against Mumbai Indians on April 5, 2025.
The third offence was in match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) where Rathi has faced one-match suspension after he accumulated 5 demerit points.
What Happened In Recent LSG Vs SRH Match?
Following Abhishek Sharma’s dismissal, Digvesh let loose with his trademark notebook celebration and gesture with the combative left-hander, but it did not go well.. Abhishek, agitated, walked towards the bowler as the two players got into a furious standoff before the on-field umpires managed to douse the situation, Rishabh Pant was also seen to intervene to stop the situation from escalating. Later, post-match handshake, the two were observed to continue the chat, with Abhishek still visibly irked until their coach Vijay Dahiya intervened to chill him out.
