In New Zealand vs Bangladesh match, a fan breached security during the match at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Following this incident Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has taken immediate steps for the security at all the venues in the Champions Trophy 2025.
Fan Invades Pitch During New Zealand Vs Bangladesh Match
It was during the match 6 of the tournament that a fan ran into the field and approached New Zealand batter Rachin Ravindra, hugging him. Then the security personnel intervened and escorted him off the field. The incident raised serious concerns about the safety protocols in place at the stadium.

PCB Increases Security After The Incident
After this breach of security there was a serious concern about players safety. The Pakistan Board has committed to increase the security measures in all the stadiums hosting Champions Trophy matches. The enhanced security will ensure that any such incidents don’t happen in the future.
PCB Issues Statement After Rachin Ravindra’s Security Breach
“The PCB has taken serious note of the security breach that occurred yesterday when a spectator entered the field of play. Ensuring the safety of players and officials remains our top priority. As a responsible organisation, we have engaged with local security agencies, who have committed to increasing security personnel around the field of play at all venues and strengthening access control measures,” said the PCB in a media release.

Fan Punished By PCB
“The individual involved was arrested and presented before a court of law today (Tuesday). In addition, he has been permanently banned from entering all cricket venues in Pakistan. To prevent such incidents in the future, the PCB is working closely with security agencies and venue authorities to review and reinforce security protocols,” they added.
