In the match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Lucknow Super Giants at the Ekana Stadium, there was a tense situation between SRH opener Abhishek Sharma and LSG spinner Digvesh Rathi. The scuffle occurred when Digvesh bowled Abhishek on the third ball of the eighth over. Few runs after smashing a 50 from 18 balls, Abhishek attempted to play another big shot but was unable to time it and was caught by Shardul Thakur.

Following the dismissal, Digvesh let loose with his trademark notebook celebration and gesture with the combative left-hander, but it did not go well.. Abhishek, agitated, walked towards the bowler as the two players got into a furious standoff before the on-field umpires managed to douse the situation, Rishabh Pant was also seen to intervene to stop the situation from escalating. Later, post-match handshake, the two were observed to continue the chat, with Abhishek still visibly irked until their coach Vijay Dahiya intervened to chill him out.

The BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla stepped in to take charge of the situation and tried to calm down the tension between Abhishek Sharma and Digvesh Rathi.. In post-match interview, Abhishek Sharma mentioned that both the players had a conversation and everything was good.
Amidst all this, Abhishek had set Hyderabad’s run-chase of 206 in motion with an incredible 59 of just 20 deliveries, filled with six sixes and four fours. Digvesh was the only bright spot for Lucknow in terms of bowling with two crucial wickets Abhishek and Ishan Kishan.
