Tokyo: India shuttler Sania Nehwal has moved past Cheung Ngan from Hong Kong in Round of 64 at the BWF World Championships.
Nehwal took 38 minutes to sail into R32 after winning the first two straight sets 21-19, 21-9. She was to face Nozomi Okuhara in the next round. However, the Japanese player has pulled out of the tournament giving Indian star a direct entry to the quarter-finals.

In the another fixture of the day, the women’s doubles pair of Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand have also been successfull in winning their R64. The duo defeated Malaysians Yeen Yuan Low and Valeree Siow by 21-11 21-13.

Along with that G.Gautam and A.Bhat also won their game by 21-8, 21-14 and reached the next round.

On the other hand, the duo of T.Crasto and I.Bhatnagar lost their fixture and ended their campaign. It was also the end of their World Championships campaingh for the pair of J.Dewangan and V.G.Prasad.
