The Indian Premier League (IPL) has evolved to such a point, according to Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) aggressive batter Rinku Singh, that it would not be surprising to see teams obtain 300 runs in a single innings. The rising speculation about teams surpassing 300 runs in an innings intensifies during the final phase of IPL 2025 because franchises heavily emphasize “power-hitting” strategy.
In his talk with ‘Jio Hotstar’, Rinku indicated that it is plausible for a team to achieve 300 runs during an inning. He said, “Yes, we can do it. The current standards of IPL allow teams to achieve scores exceeding 300 runs in a single innings. Last year, Punjab chased 262 runs. In this season every team possesses remarkable strength which makes 300 runs achievable for any player.
In their run for second place Sunrisers Hyderabad completed 250 runs on three occasions last year and achieved 297 runs in their opening game of the new season. They managed to score 286/7 runs against Rajasthan Royals yet fell just one run short of their 287/3 runs score made against RCB.
Rinku explained his goalkeeper role by discussing his approach to physical conditioning and mental control in cricket. The opening batsman maintains he bats in the fifth or sixth slot most often. Rinku conducts regular communication with Mahi bhai (MS Dhoni). “Dhoni advises me to remain composed then play the field based on what happens around me. His method of staying composed makes every situation resolve itself naturally”. Rinku has played 8 matches and 7 innings where he scored 133 runs that resulted in an average of 33.25 and strike rate of 146.15. In this season, he has failed to hit a half-century while managing 12, 17, 32, 38, 15*, 2, and 17.
