“Guys we are at Edgbaston, History created, 1 win, 3 more to go. I was meant to take the last of this match and very content and happy that how we were able to finish this match but I think three more more Manchester to go and turn around after this one and I think it’s good in this match the way everyone came and contributed with the ball with the bat goes a huge positive,” Gill said

When there are different people stepping up and performing on different stages. That’s what you want. That’s what makes a champion. Those were some great moments. It is something that I would cherish for the rest of my life. Whenever I would retire. I think this would be one of my most happiest memories,” Gill added.

A Team Effort

Apart from Gill, Ravindra Jadeja’s contribution in both the first innings (89) and second innings (69*) led India to a convincing total. Yashasvi Jaiswal also gave a good hand with the bat with his 89. The speedsters also did not leave behind and complemented the batters. While Mohammad Siraj took 6 wickets and Akash Deep claimed 4 wickets in the first innings, the latter was the conductor of the bowling arsenal by clinching 6 wickets while every other bowler put one wicket in the bag for themselves.
