Who is IAS Anjali Ajay?

IAS Thakur Anjali Ajay is originally from Muzaffarpur district in Bihar. However, her family lives in Surat, Gujarat. Anjali’s father works as an LIC agent and her mother is a homemaker. From the beginning, Anjali grew up in a home where education was always encouraged.

Graduation in Mathematics

Anjali Ajay was always a top student. She passed her 12th exam with a science stream. From school itself, she was determined to join the Civil Services. After 12th, she enrolled in a B.Sc. program and completed her degree in Mathematics in 2021.

UPSC Preparation

After graduation, Anjali started preparing for the UPSC exams. She initially planned to join coaching classes, but due to the lockdown, she switched to online preparation. She relied on online study materials to strengthen her UPSC preparation.

Clearing UPSC Twice

Anjali appeared for the UPSC exam for the first time in 2022. She scored 952 marks but did not make it to the final list. However, she was selected in the reserve list and was given the Indian Postal and Telecommunication Accounts and Finance Services (IP&TAFS) cadre.

During her training in IP&TAFS, Anjali appeared for the UPSC Civil Services exam again in 2023. This time, she secured Rank 43 and was selected for the IAS service. She was allocated the Gujarat cadre.

Anjali’s Exam Tips

When it comes to exam preparation, Anjali advises that books like “M. Lakshmikant” and “Spectrum” are crucial for success in the UPSC exam.
