The campaign commenced in Mail, Deoria, with a pledge to plant 1 lakh medicinal plants across five legislative assemblies of Ballia and Deoria districts. Leading the campaign is Mr. Rajesh Singh Dayal, popularly known as the “Medicine Man of Uttar Pradesh.” He emphasized that this initiative is not just about planting trees, but also about encouraging people to adopt the plants and take responsibility for their care and protection.

A press conference was held on this occasion, attended by several distinguished guests, including:
• Shakti Singh “Saksham”, National General Secretary, Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party
• Indradev Nishad, BJP Mandal President, Bhagalpur
• Deenbandhu Singh, Former BJP Mandal President, Bhagalpur

While addressing the media, Mr. Rajesh Singh Dayal stated:

“I have been an active member of the Bharatiya Janata Party for the past 30 years, and I consider it my moral duty to contribute to the success of every welfare initiative launched by our Hon’ble Prime Minister. This tree plantation drive is not just an environmental step—it is an emotional tribute to our mothers.”

He added that the selected medicinal plants—Neem, Amla, and Moringa—were chosen with public health and natural healing in mind. Mr. Dayal also shared that he has provided free medical treatment and medicines to over 2 lakh people in Deoria and Ballia, and this plantation campaign is an extension of that spirit of service.

When a journalist asked whether the initiative was politically motivated ahead of the upcoming assembly elections, Mr. Dayal firmly responded:

“My only aim is social service, and there is absolutely no political intention behind this. I work solely for the people and for nature.”

He also announced that free medical camps will resume in the coming months. These services will now be operated through his own hospital, as the foundation has ended its collaboration with a previously associated hospital due to reports of high charges imposed on poor and underprivileged patients.

The event concluded with enthusiastic participation from local residents, social workers, and media representatives, marking the beginning of a green revolution in Eastern Uttar Pradesh as a true people’s movement.
