According to a report by ET Now, a partnership between Titagarh Rail Systems Limited and Bharat Heavy Engineering Limited (BHEL) will make 80 Vande Bharat Sleeper trains under a contract worth Rs 24,000 crore. They will also take care of maintaining these trains for the next 35 years. The trains will be built at a new, modern factory in Uttarpara, Kolkata, West Bengal, run by Titagarh Rail Systems.

The Titagarh Rail systems factory in Uttarpara plays a key role in this plan. It used advanced Industry 4.0 technology and robotic production lines, which are a big step forward for rail manufacturing in India. This facility is the only one in the country that can produce both stainless steel and aluminium coaches in one place. Right now, it can make 300 coaches a year, but this will be increased to 850 to meet growing demand.
