The Uttar Pradesh Police said that an Air Force civil engineer was shot dead at his home in the Cantonment area of Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh on March 29.
According to a PTI report, the Pramufti SHO said that an assailant shot the civil engineer through the window when he was sleeping at his home. The incident took place inside the air force station premises. The deceased has been identified as 51-year-old SN Mishra.
The police said Mishra received the bullet in the chest, and he was immediately taken to hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries. The police sent the body for postmortem.
A senior police officer said they examined the CCTV footage, which shows a man climbing the wall and entering the house. He said a manhunt has been launched to nab the accused.
Upon receiving a complaint, an FIR has been registered and a thorough probe has been launched. Mishra is survived by his wife, a son, and a daughter.
