Unnao: On June 5, 2024, around 6 AM in Darbarikheda village on the Lucknow-Kanpur highway in Unnao, UP, the blood-soaked body of a young man was found inside a dry well. A motorcycle was also found lying nearby. Upon investigation, it was revealed that the body belonged to Nadeem, a cloth trader from Kanpur.
According to the post-mortem report, Nadeem was murdered by slitting his throat with a knife. There were no clues at the scene that could lead the police to the killer. Nadeem’s mother was inconsolable upon seeing his body. When the police examined Nadeem’s call records, they discovered that just before his death, he had spoken to his wife and her lover. This raised the police’s suspicion towards his wife. During the investigation, it was found that Nadeem’s wife had been staying at her parental home for several days. The police then questioned both his wife and her lover. During the interrogation, a story emerged that shocked even the police officers. Until now, the police had believed that Nadeem’s wife was the killer, but the real culprit turned out to be someone else.
Clue from Nadeem’s wife’s statement
During the interrogation, Nadeem’s wife revealed that she had very little communication with her husband. She also suspected that her mother-in-law, Arfa Begum, might be involved in the murder. Furthermore, Nadeem’s wife’s lover informed the police that he had overheard Arfa Begum discussing the murder. This added a new twist to the story. The police then took Nadeem’s mother, Arfa Begum, into custody. Under intense questioning, Arfa Begum confessed to her crime. She had paid a professional killer 250,000 rupees to murder Nadeem. Now the question arises: why would a mother have her own son killed so brutally? What was the reason that the woman who gave birth to him had his throat slit? The motive behind Nadeem’s murder was Arfa Begum’s illicit relationship. Arfa Begum had been having an affair with her cousin, Hasam Ali, who lived in Ajmer, for quite some time.

Killer Called from Ajmer to Murder Son
During police interrogation, it was revealed that Nadeem often argued with his mother, Arfa Begum, over her romantic relationships. Nadeem’s father had passed away, and his mother wanted to sell all the property in Unnao and settle in Ajmer with her lover. Nadeem opposed this. As a result, Arfa Begum, along with her lover Hasam Ali, planned Nadeem’s murder. They hired a contract killer named Salim from Ajmer, agreeing on a deal for 250,000 rupees. On June 3rd, Salim arrived in Kanpur, and Arfa Begum introduced him to Nadeem as a relative, asking Nadeem to show Salim around the city. On June 4th, around 2 PM, Nadeem took Salim on his motorcycle and headed towards Deva Sharif in Barabanki.
Plan to Sell Property and Marry Lover in Ajmer
While returning at night, Salim asked Nadeem to stop the bike near Darbarikheda village in Unnao. When Nadeem asked why, Salim said he needed to smoke hashish. As Nadeem stood waiting, Salim came from behind and slashed his throat with a knife. He then threw Nadeem’s body into a well and fled the scene, leaving the motorcycle behind. Arfa Begum’s plan was to sell all the property after Nadeem’s murder, move to Ajmer, and marry her lover, Hasam Ali. However, her conspiracy was uncovered, and the police arrested Arfa Begum, Hasam Ali, and the contract killer, Salim.
