The love story of a would-be mother-in-law and her soon-to-be son-in-law from Aligarh has been making headlines across the state. The police had been searching for them and carrying out raids for days. Today, they finally succeeded, the police arrested the duo near the Nepal border.
Today, April 16, was the planned wedding day of Rahul and Shivani. But on this very day, the police caught Rahul (the groom) and Anita (the mother-in-law).
Ten days before the wedding, on April 6, Anita ran away with her son-in-law Rahul. The police had put both of their mobile phones under surveillance. Their phones were switched off for 10 days. As soon as Rahul turned on his phone, the police tracked them. They were then caught near the Nepal border.
How Did They Escape?
During the police investigation, it was found that both of them went from Aligarh to Kasganj railway station. From there, they bought tickets to Rudrapur in Uttarakhand. The police have also found different locations of both individuals apart from Kasganj.
Some women from the village have accused Rahul of using black magic on Anita. They said, “Her husband has been working away from home for years, so why didn’t she run away earlier?” The entire village is upset, and people are demanding strict action against both of them.
