Tragic End For Hathras Boy: 65 Foreign Objects In Stomach Lead To His Death

Aditya was transferred to Safdarjung Hospital, where doctors discovered a total of 65 foreign objects in his stomach

In a heartbreaking case, 14-year-old Aditya Sharma from Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, passed away after doctors at Delhi’s Safdarjung Hospital conducted a complex five-hour surgery to remove 65 foreign objects from his stomach, including batteries, chains, razor blade fragments, and screws. The procedure, while successful in removing the objects, could not prevent a fatal intestinal infection.

A Sudden Medical Mystery

Aditya’s health issues began on October 13 when he started experiencing shortness of breath and discomfort. His father, Sanchet Sharma, a medical representative in Hathras, shared that the family initially took him to a hospital in Agra. However, as Aditya’s condition worsened, they sought medical help in four other cities like Jaipur, Aligarh, Noida, and finally Delhi hoping for a diagnosis and treatment. Tragically, Aditya died on October 28, less than a month after his symptoms first appeared.

A Frantic Search for Answers

After their first hospital visit in Agra, Aditya was referred to Jaipur for further tests. He returned to UP on October 19, but within days, his symptoms resurfaced, leading his parents to rush him to Aligarh. There, a CT scan showed a nasal blockage, which doctors removed, but Aditya soon developed severe abdominal pain. On October 26, an ultrasound in Aligarh revealed 19 foreign objects in his stomach. He was then sent to a hospital in Noida, where doctors discovered even more objects and stressed the need for urgent intervention.
