There has been a serious traffic jam on the Indore-Dewas route of the Agra-Mumbai National Highway for the last 32 hours. This jam occurred due to the construction of an overbridge and diversion of the service road near the Arjun Baroda area, the length of which has spread to about 8 kilometers. Thousands of vehicles are stuck in this massive jam. Due to continuous rain, large potholes have formed on the service road, which has worsened the situation.

Three people lost their lives due to being stuck in this jam. The deceased include Kamal Panchal (62) of Indore, Balram Patel (55), a resident of Shujalpur, and Sandeep Patel (32) of Gari Pipalya. According to the information, Kamal Panchal’s car was stuck in the jam for about one and a half hours, after which he fainted.

He was taken to a private hospital in Dewas, where doctors declared him dead. This information was given by Dr. Sunil Sharma, Duty Doctor, Apex Hospital, Dewas.
Two of Balram Patel and Sandeep Patel suffered a heart attack, while one patient died before reaching the hospital.
After the incidents, the National Highway Authority (NHAI) has started speeding up the construction work of the service road. Also, vehicles going from Dewas to Indore are being diverted through alternative routes.
Meanwhile, Indore Collector Ashish Singh held a review meeting with the officials of the concerned departments and issued instructions not to take any challan action on the road for the time being.
