‘Terror Threat’ to PM Modi’s Aircraft? Mumbai Police Nabs Man From Chembur Area

Mumbai Police on Tuesday apprehended a man from the Chembur area after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s aircraft received a terror threat ahead of his official visit abroad, the police reported on Wednesday.

“On February 11th, a call was received at the Mumbai Police control room warning that terrorists might target PM Modi’s aircraft as he was preparing for his official trip abroad. Given the serious nature of the threat, the Police informed other agencies and launched an investigation,” Mumbai Police said.

“The individual who made the threatening call to the Mumbai Police control room has been taken into custody in the Chembur area. He is mentally ill,” the police added.

Prime Minister Modi co-chaired the AI Action Summit in Paris on Tuesday with French President Emmanuel Macron. The week-long summit culminated in a High-Level Segment attended by global leaders, policymakers, and industry experts.

Upon arriving in Marseille, the Prime Minister received a warm welcome from the Indian diaspora at a local hotel. Accompanied by President Macron, PM Modi is also scheduled to visit the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) project, a major international collaboration in nuclear fusion research.

In tribute to historical ties, the Prime Minister will visit the Mazargues War Cemetery to honour Indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the World Wars.

PM Modi is set to proceed to the US next, at the invitation of US President Donald Trump, marking the first meeting between the two leaders since President Trump began his second term in office.
