A businessman from Gurgaon, Rajesh Sawhney, has warned that there are fewer job chances for international students in the United States, Canada, and the UK. Thus is because these countries are making their immigration rules stricter, making it harder for students to stay and work after finishing their studies.
In a post on the social media platform X, Sawhney advised parents to be careful before spending a lot of money to send their children abroad.
“There are no jobs in USA, Canada and UK for International students,” Sawhney wrote. “Honeymoon is over, parents should think twice before spending crores on the expensive education.”
Job Shortcut for Students No Longer Works, Says Entrepreneur
The entrepreneur from Gurgaon said that earlier, students from IIT could go to the United States for a master’s degree and easily get a tech job. But now, that’s not possible anymore.
“Engg students especially IITians had an easy hack, do masters in the US and get a $200K starting tech job. This hack works no more,” he wrote on X.

Sawhney’s post led to a lot of discussion on social media about the job market, stricter immigration rules, and other related topics.
One person commented that things were much better in the past.
“True! I was there in 2017, people were getting a $150k offer in the first quarter of education BEFORE the career fair. NOW, that same person is at Google and scared s* that she will be laid off!”** they wrote.
Another person shared a positive view about returning to India.
“I am more bullish for those engineers come back to India and build billion dollar startups. Imagine all those YC startups by Indians, building from India for the world. That will be legendary,” they said.
