Traffic Police has implemented traffic diversion plan on occasion of Somvati Amavasya. This plan will remain in effect from Sunday, 12 am till the time holy bath is completed. From Chandi Chowk in Haridwar to Valmiki Chowk, Shiv Murti chowk and from Shiv Murti to Har ki Pauri, Bhimgoda barrier to Har Ki Pauri has been declared zero zone.

SSP Pramendra Singh Dobal has implemented a plan and issued instructions to subordinates to strictly follow it. Haridwar SP Traffic, Pankaj Gairola stated that vehicles coming from Delhi will be parked at Alaknanda, Deendayal, Pantdeep, and Chamgadar Tapu, passing through Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Narson, Manglaur, COER College, Gurukul Kangri, and Shankaracharya Chowk.
The vehicles will be directed to Bairagi camp parking from Narson, Manglaur, Nagla Imrati underpass, Landhaura, Laksar, SM Tiraaha, and Sri Yantra Setu if the pressure increases.
Vehicles coming from Punjab and Haryana will travel through Saharanpur, Mandawar, Bhagwanpur, Saliyer, Bijauli Chowk, NH 344, via Nagala Imarti, COER College, Bahadarabad Bypass, Harilok Tiraha, and Gurukul Kangri, and will reach Alaknanda, Deendayal, Pantdeep, and Chamgadar Tapu.
The vehicles will be parked in Bairagi camp if the congestion increases. Small vehicles coming from Nazibabad will reach Chamgadar Tapu via Chandi Chowki, Deendayal, Pantdeep. Under increased pressure, vehicles will be diverted from 4.2 and parked at the Gauri shankar-Neeladhara parking.
Vehicles coming from Dehradun, Rishikesh will be sent to Motichur Parking through Nepali farm, Raiwala, Dudhadhari Chowk. Second route will lead to Haridwar from Nepali farm, IDPL, Chandi Chowk underpass.
Somvati Amavasya is considered most sacred day to worship ancestors. This day is observed on Monday and coincides with the new moon day (Amavasya). Somvati Amavasya holds religious and cultural significance.
