Second Batch Of 119 Illegal Indian Immigrants Arrives In Amritsar, Third Batch Set To Land Today | WATCH

CM Mann on Friday raised strong objections regarding the Central Government’s move to land another plane at the Amritsar airport, questioning if they are trying to defame Punjab. On Thursday (local time), PM Modi noted that India is willing to welcome back its nationals living illegally in the US and emphasized the need to finish the "ecosystem" of human trafficking.

Days after America deported the first batch of 104 illegal Indian immigrants back to India, the second US military aircraft C17 Globemaster III reportedly carrying 119 Indian nationals landed at the Amritsar Airport early Sunday. According to reports, a third batch carrying another 157 deportees is expected to arrive in Amritsar today, February 16, 2025. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Saturday assured that the immigrants would be given appropriate treatment and that all arrangements were in place. The Chief Minister further mentioned the deportees would be staying in Amritsar for a few hours before being sent to their respective homelands.

We have also made staying arrangements for them. They will stay here for a few hours and then go to their respective states as the flights have been booked by the Ministry of External Affairs already.”
