Sambhal’s Circle Officer Anuj Chaudhary asserted that every individual has the right to celebrate the festival as per his wish. He said that the peace should not be disturbed.
During the peace committee meeting in Sambhal, Circle Officer Anuj Chaudhary said,”If you want to serve Eid’s Sevaiyan, you will have to eat Gujia too…Every individual has the freedom to celebrate their festival…Our aim is that the peace and order of the place where we live should not be disturbed.”
On March 25, Sambhal CO Anuj Chaudhary and ASP Sambhal Shirish Chandra led a team of police personnel as they conducted a flag march ahead of Eid festival. CO Anuj Chaudhary said, “A flag march was taken out in the entire Sambhal area. Its purpose is to create confidence in the people and no mischievous elements should try to spoil the upcoming festivals.”
Meanwhile,the Uttar Pradesh Special Investigation Team (SIT) arrived in New Delhi on Tuesday to handover notice to the Samajwadi Party MP from Sambhal, Zia ur Rehman Barq for his alleged involvement in the violence that broke out at Sambhal’s Shahi Jama Masjid during a court-ordered survey of the mosque on November 24.
The SIT went to MP’s hostel at Western Court and handed over the notice to Barq.
Zia ur Rehman Barq spoke to ANI regarding the issue and stated that he received the notice under Section 35(3) and as an MP he will cooperate with the authorities in the investigation of the Sambhal violence that took place in November last year.
