A 25-year-old TCS manager died by suicide after accusing his wife of harassment in Uttar Pradesh’s Agra. The incident is reportedly similar to Bengaluru techie Atul Subhash, who also died by suicide.
The deceased, Manav Sharma, was employed as a Manager with TCS in Mumbai. He recorded a video of 6 minutes 57 seconds before hanging himself on February 24. The video has gone viral on social media.
In the video clip, Manav apologised to his parents. He requested to understand the distress of men, stating “Please someone should talk about men.”
Manav was a resident of the Defense Colony, and his father was a retired employee of the Indian Air Force. Manav married Nikita Sharma in January 2024.
After a few days of marriage, Manav’s wife allegedly started levelling false accusations against him. She also expressed her interest in living with her boyfriend.
Manav returned from Mumbai on February 23. He later dropped her at her maternal home. Manav was reportedly threatened by Nikita’s family when he went to drop his wife. On February 24, he took the extreme step.
The police have registered a case, and a probe has been initiated.
On the other hand, Nikita rejected Manav’s claims, saying that her husband was “alcoholic” and he had harmed himself several times in the past.
“He used to drink excessively and attempted suicide several times,” she said. Nikita added that she had saved him on numerous occasions.
