It was announced that for North American passengers stuck in Erzurum an extra flight has been arranged from Mumbai, India, Xinhua news agency reported.

In an address to reporters at the airport, Ciftci said that by 11:30 pm, the last round of searches and checks will be over and without fail the threat issue would be proved wrong.

He also stated that its other aircraft left the country around 12:25 pm Turkish local time and would arrive in Frankfurt later that day to repatriate the passengers on board.

Owing to a bomb threat the Mumbai Frankfurt flight commenced over Eastern Turkey before making its destination to Amsterdam on Thursday.

The Turkish officials stated that a note located in the airplane’s bathroom stated “bomb on board” and is probably the reason why 247 passengers along with the crew had to do an emergency landing.
