Sonam Raghuvanshi and the other four accused, behind the murder of Raja Raghuvanshi, have been remanded to 8-day Police custody. It has been learnt that Sonam purchased three mobile phones in Indore. After her husband was killed, Sonam disposed of two of her phones and Raja’s phone. The devices were traced near the murder spot.
Sonam Helped Killers Throw Raja’s Body Into Gorge
Shillong Police had recovered two of Sonam’s phones while two others, which were used in the murder case, are yet to be recovered. Meanwhile, it is suspected that she had searched a lot about the murder spot on the internet and the place where Raja was taken and killed. Shockingly, she helped the three contract killers throw the victim’s body into the gorge.
Sonam Confesses Involvement In Husband’s Murder
On Thursday, Sonam confessed that she was involved in the murder. Following the murder, all four accused left on three scooters while Sonam boarded a train from Guwahati to Indore. Before this, she hired a taxi to reach the station. Shillong police are searching for the taxi driver to record his statement.
Left Mangalsutra At Homestay In Sohra
The brutal murder case took an unexpected turn when police found a ring and Sonam’s mangalsutra from a suitcase that the couple left in the Sohra homestay. It has been learnt that the couple arrived in Sohra on May 22. As they had not booked their homestay beforehand, no rooms were available. They left their suitcase there, given that it would be difficult to carry it on a trek where they intended to go.
