Muskan Rastogi, the accused and incarcerated for allegedly killing her husband, Saurabh Rajput, in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, has tested positive for pregnancy. The report indicated the positive test was confirmed Monday.
On March 4, Rastogi, along with her lover, Sahil Shukla, allegedly stabbed Rajput to death and then dismembered and kept the pieces of his body in a cement-filled drum.
Both accused remain separately occupying barracks in Meerut district jail. Last week, a local court extended the period of judicial custody for up to another 14 days.
As stated in the report by India Today, the chief medical officer, Ashok Kataria, confirmed on Monday that Rastogi’s pregnancy test was positive. Prior to this, the jail administration had requested a medical test for Rastogi to the chief minister’s office after the doctor advised them to do so. Consequently, a team from the district hospital was then sent to do the dealing.
Last week, for the first time since their arrest, Rastogi and Shukla met in person. The prison administration has strictly prohibited both accused from communicating with each other. Upon seeing her lover, PTI stated that Rastogi began crying during her video-conference appearance in court.
