On April 2nd, flight lieutenant Siddharth Yadav, along with another pilot, boarded the Air Force’s Jaguar aircraft for the ‘special night mission‘. They took off from Gujarat’s Jamnagar airfield. Around 9:30 pm, the aircraft developed a technical fault. Both pilots became aware of this issue and were concerned that the aircraft should not crash in the residential area.
IAF pilot Siddharth made the decision and brought the plane with the other pilot to the open field. The aircraft eventually crashed in the Suwarda village area. Both pilots ejected in time. One pilot survived, but unfortunately, Siddharth Yadav lost his life. IAF pilot Siddharth Yadav put his own life at stake to save the lives of others.

Who Was Siddharth Yadav?
Siddharth joined the Indian Air Force in 2017-fulfilling his long-held dream of flying. His father, Sushil Kumar, also served in the Indian Air Force. Siddharth was academically strong and known for his sharp mind. He brought pride to his family during his eight years of service.
His father said that Siddharth saved many lives by sacrificing his own. Sushil Kumar expressed that the family is extremely proud of him. He also shared that Siddharth got engaged on March 23rd this year.
Siddharth’s father, Sushil Kumar, proudly shared that his son has been a bright and promising student from the very beginning. He recalled that Siddharth joined the National Defense Academy in 2016.
