Khalistani Terrorist Pannun Issues Threats Against Ram Mandir And Other Temples

Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, designated as a terrorist by India under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) in July 2020

In a recent video from the banned group Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), Khalistani leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun has issued threats against Hindu temples, including the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. The video, reportedly filmed in Brampton, Canada, calls for violent action on November 16 and 17. Pannun, targeting Hindu places of worship, warns, “We will shake the foundations of Ayodhya, birthplace of the violent Hindutva ideology.” The video includes clips of Prime Minister Modi at the Ram Temple’s inauguration earlier this year.

Warnings for Indians in Canada

Pannun also issued a caution to Indians living in Canada, advising them to avoid areas near Hindu temples to escape potential attacks planned by Khalistani groups. He previously warned against flying with Air India during a specified period in November, citing the 40th anniversary of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.

Escalation of Anti-India Activities by SFJ

Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, designated as a terrorist by India under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) in July 2020, continues to promote separatist sentiment and anti-India actions from his base in North America. SFJ’s activities include inciting violence against Indian diplomats and encouraging unrest within the Indian diaspora, aiming to destabilize communal harmony.

Growing Tensions and Attacks in Canada

Recently, incidents of vandalism, hate graffiti, and clashes at Hindu temples in Canada have increased, along with threats against the Hindu community from radical Khalistani groups. In Brampton, pro-Khalistani protesters disrupted a consular event organized by a Hindu temple and the Indian Consulate. These incidents have escalated the strain between India and Canada, with Indian authorities repeatedly pressing Canada to take stronger action against such radical elements, though Canada’s response has been seen as lacking.
