YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra was arrested for spying after she was accused of having connections with Pakistani intelligence agents. According to a News18 report that quoted sources, she shared important and secret information about India with Pakistan during “Operation Sindoor.”
Jyoti reportedly shared information about power blackouts ordered by the Indian government during the military’s action against terrorist camps in Pakistan.
This happened just one day after the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the Intelligence Bureau questioned Malhotra during an investigation.
Jyoti Malhotra Confesses to Being in Touch with Danish
The Haryana police and central investigation agencies found that YouTuber was regularly in contact with Ehsan-ur-Rahim, also known as Danish. He works at the Pakistani High Commission in Delhi. She stayed in touch with him from November 2023 to March 2025.
According to a report by Hindustan Times, Hisar police spokesperson Vikas Kumar said that Malhotra admitted to being in contact with Danish.
Officials have also sent her three mobile phones and a laptop, along with two phones belonging to Harkirat Singh, the IT head of the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, for forensic testing.

Kumar said that Danish was trying to develop Malhotra “as an asset”. He also said that she was in contact with other YouTubers. She will be taken to a local court on Wednesday, where the police will ask for more time to keep her in custody.
India has now declared Danish as persona non grata, which means he is no longer allowed to stay in the country. He had introduced Malhotra to Ali Ahwan, who helped arrange her stay in Pakistan and set up meetings with Pakistani security officials.
Reports say that Malhotra continued to stay in touch with Pakistani officials even after coming back to India. She also met Danish several times at the Pakistan High Commission in Delhi.
Investigating agencies are now closely looking into her trips to Pakistan, including one before the Pahalgam attack, and a visit to China.
According to Hindustan Times, a senior police officer said that Malhotra has multiple bank accounts with many money transactions, which are now being examined.
Besides Malhotra, 11 more people have been arrested in the past two weeks for allegedly being involved in spying for Pakistan.
