A 4-year-old girl was allegedly abducted and raped by unidentified accused in Jabalpur, Majhagawan, police said, adding the girl had gone to attend a marriage when the incident took place. Police said the girl resides with her family members in Majhgawan village in Jabalpur.
“On Saturday night, a marriage took place in Majhgawan village. To attend the marriage, the survivor’s mother changed her clothes and went to the wedding. When she went missing during the wedding, her mother started searching and spotted the girl crying near a man,” said Suryakang Sharma, Additional SP, Jabalpur.
The ASP said, “When the survivor was checked, blood stains were found on her clothes, following which the entire incident was revealed.”
Police said that based on the complaint, a case under relevant sections of rape and abduction of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the POCSO Act was registered at a local police station, and several suspects were detained on suspicion.
It was suspected that when girl was playing in marriage, the accused abducted her and raped her. Efforts are underway to nab the accused and further investigation is on.
