New Delhi: The survey continues for the third day today at the BBC offices in India. Meanwhile, the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has asked the employees of its Indian offices not to delete any data from their electronic devices. In an internal communication sent yesterday, the broadcaster asked its employees to be prepared and cooperate with the tax authorities.

For the third day also, the survey of Income Tax Department is going on in BBC Mumbai and Delhi offices. This survey is being done to investigate allegations of non-compliance, tax evasion, 10 years balance sheet, international tax and transfer pricing. BBC employees sent ‘international communication’

Sources said the BBC has sent two “internal communications” to its staff in India since the start of the I-T survey in its offices on Tuesday. Sources, say that the BBC has told its top executives in India to be prepared for any questioning by the Income Tax authorities and cooperate with the investigation. A list of “instructions” has also been sent to its employees in Delhi and Mumbai offices.

In its first communication after the survey, the BBC informed the employees about the I-T action and assured them of support if they are experiencing “mental and emotional distress” due to the development. The broadcaster also urged such employees to be in touch with the company councilors.

Broadcast of BBC continues

Explain that since the Income Tax Department started the survey operation, all the staff required for broadcasting services including television and radio and bulletins are working from the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) Delhi office. Income Tax officials are conducting a survey campaign at BBC India offices in Delhi and Mumbai for the third day on Thursday over allegations of tax evasion.
