The Army took swift action and fired at the terrorists, suspected to be affiliated with the Hizbul Mujahideen.

One of the infiltrators, identified as Muneer Hussain, a resident of Bagyladra Poonch, was killed. However, there is no information available yet about the fate of the other infiltrator who was also shot during the encounter.

Muneer Hussain, a self-styled Division Commander of the Hizbul Mujahideen, had crossed over to Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) in 1993 for arms training and returned in 1996.

He once again went back to PoK in 1998. The Army revealed that he was involved in orchestrating several attacks on security forces and had close ties with an associate of Maulana Dawood Kashmir, who is a close aide of Syed Salauddin, the founder of Hizbul Mujahideen.

Based on reliable intelligence inputs, the Army stated that a high-level meeting of the Hizbul Mujahideen Group took place in Islamabad, which Hussain had attended. The agenda of the meeting was to discuss the revival of terrorism in the Rajouri and Poonch areas.

Lt Col Suneel Bartwal, the defence spokesperson, emphasized that it is evident that Pakistan is attempting to send seasoned terrorists to the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir to motivate and recruit youth, thus making desperate efforts to revive terrorism in the region.

The Indian Army’s vigilance and swift response have once again proven crucial in thwarting terrorist infiltration attempts and ensuring the security and safety of the region. Authorities remain on high alert to prevent further attempts and maintain peace in the region.

The Original Kaanta Laga Girl: ‘It Was My Good Fortune That The Big Hit Song Came To Me’

Ashaji recalls Kaanta laga as an upbeat folk dance number  composed by Rahul Dev Burman. “It was peppy and catchy. We were all humming the  song when shooting it. But did I think it would become such a rage in retrospect? No! Success on that level cannot be predicted by anyone. I remember the song Maar diya jaye ke chhor diya jaye in my film Mera Gaon Mera Desh. That too became such craze, although Lataji’s other  songs  in the film were also outstanding.”
