IMD Weather Update: The Western Himalayan Region and northwest India have been continuously battling two active western disturbances for the past few days. While the first disturbance, seen as a cyclonic circulation over West Afghanistan and adjoining Iran, will bring light showers accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning over the Western Himalayan Region and northwest India until the 5th of February, the second one arrives on the 8th of February. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts isolated to scattered light rainfall and snowfall over the Himalayan Region, expected to continue till 9th February 2025. The ongoing pattern suggests that the weather conditions will remain consistent for quite some time now.

Dense Fog Warnings
According to IMD’s latest update and data, a few states reported dense to very dense fog conditions during the past 24 hours. Below 50 m visibility was reported from isolated pockets of Punjab, Haryana, West Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, and South Interior Karnataka. Meanwhile, East Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Sikkim, and Odisha recorded reduced visibility between 50 to 90 m range.
IMD predicts foggy conditions to continue during the night and early morning hours in isolated pockets of Punjab, Haryana, West Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar till today. Additionally, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura are likely to experience dense fog till the 5th of February and over Odisha till the 6th of February.
AQI, Weather Forecast In Delhi 243
Delhiites experienced a slight relief on Tuesday morning as the air quality shifted from ‘very poor’ to ‘poor’ category. The average AQI was recorded as 243 at 6 am. In light of the improved air quality across the national capital, the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) revoked GRAP Stage-III with immediate effect on Monday night.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts clear weather in Delhi/NCR till the 6th of February. According to IMD, there has been a fall in minimum temperatures up to 1°C over Delhi/NCR during the past 24 hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures across the city were recorded in the range of f 20 to 22°C and 9 to 10°C respectively.
