IMD Weather Update: Heavy Rain Forecast For Bengaluru; Delhi May Face Warm Temperatures Ahead

On October 21, the minimum temperature is expected to be at 26.9° C while the maximum is at 35.59° C in Delhi. The relative humidity will be 29%. Delhites must brace themselves for a very warm day ahead and plan their outdoor activities accordingly.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted heavy rainfall in Bengaluru on Sunday. Heavy downpours have been hitting the city since October 16 due to a depression in air pressure over the Southwest Bay of Bengal. Though the intensity of rainfall is expected to rise during the next few days, it should decrease by October 24.

Delhi Weather Forecast, AQI

Delhi has recorded a temperature up to 32.06 °C today. According to reports, the relative humidity stands at 32%, while the speed of the wind is 32 km/h. On October 21, the minimum temperature is expected to be at 26.9° C while the maximum at 35.59° C. The relative humidity will be 29%. Delhites must brace themselves for a very warm day ahead and plan their outdoor activities accordingly.

AQI: The National Capital continues to struggle with bad air quality on Saturday after pollution levels reached alarming heights. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi’s average Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 278, which falls under the ‘poor’ category.

Heavy Rainfall Observed In These Places During Past 24 Hours

Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, South Interior Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat received heavy rainfall during the past 24 hrs. Meanwhile, very heavy rainfall was recorded in Telangana in the past 24 hours.

IMD Weather Warning Till October 25

IMD has issued weather warnings for the next 7 days from October 19 to 25:

  1. A low-pressure area lying over the east-central & adjoining west-central Arabian Sea is anticipated to move west-northwestwards during the next 2 days.
  2. A fresh low-pressure area is likely to form over the Central Bay of Bengal around October 21.
  3. Isolated ‘heavy’ to ‘very heavy’ rainfall is likely over Andaman & Nicobar Islands on the 20th & 21st and over parts of the east peninsular coast from October 24 to 25.
